Welcome & Vision

EVERY LEARNER MATTERS

As Headteacher, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school community. At Moorlands, we endeavour to make our school a happy, lively, and caring place where learning is stimulating and exciting. We fundamentally believe that a pupil who feels happy, valued, and secure will be able to make the very most of their education.

Our core vision is simple: we are dedicated to unlocking our pupils' potential, equipping them to be responsible, contributing members of society within a safe and inspiring learning environment. As a proud member of the REACH Co-operative Trust, values of community, resilience, and mutual support run through everything we do.

We know that strong academic outcomes are vital; they are the keys that unlock future opportunities for our young people. However, education at Moorlands is about so much more than just the core subjects. We are deeply committed to providing a broad, ambitious curriculum and a vibrant extra-curricular offer. Whether it is through sports, the arts, music, or outdoor learning, our goal is to help every single child find their ‘thing’—that special passion or talent that they absolutely love and that builds their confidence.

We are proud of our "Inclusion First" ethos. We are a two-form entry mainstream primary school that celebrates diversity in all its forms. Through our extensive, multi-disciplinary Inclusion Team, we ensure that every pupil, regardless of their starting point, receives the support they need to thrive.

We also place a big emphasis on the joy of learning. We achieved the Bronze Award for the Southampton Reading Charter, a testament to our fantastic staff and pupil librarians who ensure every child takes home both a 'Learn to Read' and a 'Love to Read' book.

Whether your child is joining us in Early Years or later in their primary journey, we believe in working in close partnership with parents and carers. Our website contains a wealth of information about our curriculum, our SEND offer, and daily school life. If you have any queries, our dedicated school office team is always your first port of call and will be delighted to help you.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family to Moorlands.
